Patient Inquiry Overview

Have you ever imagined getting treatment from a doctor without leaving home?

Often, the hassle of going to a doctor's office for medication refills and routine management seems too much. Studies show that people will drop out of treatment if there are too many barriers--even when they know they need it! Strength of Mind® provides a tool for doctors and patients to eliminate or reduce several of these obstacles.
By completing your initial sign-up questions from home, your doctor can review your case before you get there for the first visit. You take a major role in starting your own chart. Because you can take your time, you can get it right. This data is on the system and can't be lost or forgotten like a verbal report. It will always be there for ready reference.

Now for the really enjoyable part: Your follow-up medication management and refills can be solely online. You don't have to drive or leave home. You don't have to change your schedule or skip work. You don't have to work around your doctor's schedule book. You complete your work any time, day or night, any day of the week.

Now, who is eligible and appropriate to use this tool? Generally, this style of treatment works best for conditions that are fairly common and easily understood. An example would be an episode of mild to moderate depression, what we call "a case of the common depression." The patient is NOT SUICIDAL or likely to head that way soon. There are usually just one or two medicines needed and few changes are needed along the way.

Other conditions might include social phobia (the fear of speaking in front of others), moderate anxieties, smoking cessation, common insomnia, obsessive-compulsive disorders, or moderate mood instability.

You must call 911 or take other immediate emergency action if you are considering suicide or harm to yourself. Please stop now and take emergency action such as calling 911 or going to the nearest emergency room.

There are a few items you should consider in finding a doctor: Web-based treatment allows distance to be less of a concern. You may only have to drive to the doctor's office once. For those in rural or remote areas, this can be of tremendous help.

Another item to understand is that you must visit the doctor first in the state he/she is licensed to practice. Some people will need to travel out of state to initiate a patient-doctor relationship.

We would like to assist you in connecting with a physician. Our job will be to help you find a doctor already on the system or find one that is willing to sign up. A doctor needs only to go through a brief process to begin using this system.

Insurance companies pay for the first office visit, as it is face-to-face. However, the charges for online follow-up visits are typically not covered. Offsetting this somewhat is that the charges for online follow-up are usually less than for face-to-face visits. Also, remember to add the value of saving time and avoiding hassles.
